Idle

Help!!! My 97 cobra starts up at 2000 rpm and quickly drops to normal idle and runs fine after its been off for awhile. It has done this since I got it used
six months ago, it has 70k on it, I've replaced the idle air valve and set the throttle plates by the book, no obvious vac. leaks,no codes..

This seems really high for initial start with no oil pressure,, any help with this is greatly appreciated

The only mods are a k+n air filter and MAC catback

i think all cars do that....my stang and other cars have always started up to 2k since they were new and then quikly fall to around 1k+/- until they warm up enough to drop down to regular idle at 500-750rpm. if it surges on idle repeatedly on while idling, you may want to look into cleaning or replacing your iac valve again. i dont know...just my 2 cents

My GT does the same thing. I think it is just normal...?
