I mean, with the belt strap on? I know I will have to get a smaller one..but will the belt still work ? Or Do you HAVE to have either a smog or a/c pulley on the car for the belt to properly attach? Thanks in advance.

I ran without a smog pulley on with a smaller belt for a long time untill I sold my previouse car... You have to get a smaller belt, but you have to remember that the belt will stretch after a little while therefor making your tensioner not work properly which will lead to belt slippage and or coming off. If you get a small enough belt (will be a PITA to put on) you should be ok. Just sllow for about an inche or so of stretching...

I've heard of people having the tensionner bottom-out without the smog pulley, but as for the a/c side I think its alright. A trouble-free solution would be to get a smog-delete pulley, but its not completely necessary, just better.

I should find out how it works pretty soon. I currently have the smog delete and A/C delete pulleys. I want to pull them off, and just run a shorter belt, then cut the brackets off to make it a little cleaner in there.

I have an old belt I am going to cut and wrap around the pulleys to try and get the correct length. I figure I can get my brother to crank on the tensioner while I measure. As soon as I get the electric water pump on the car I should be able to try it.

Throw them both out and just run a shorter belt. It will work great. I am running mine without both my ac and smog.

Good info to know. I chopped off my smog bracket.... if my A/C ever goes south, I may chop off that bracket too.

I can't figure out how to run the belt without AC and smog... Anyone care to draw me up a diagram?

Thanks! :SNSign:
