History:
Alright, make a long story short.... I smacked my wheel cutting a curb because i was late to the dentist appointment. Blew out the tire. When i went to replace tire, I decided to replace all 4 becuase the 02 GT was used and sitting on lot for a long time and tires developed dry rot. 'Other day, I realized all my rims are pretty beaten, and torn up. The one wheel won't balance correctly either. I'm saying screw it, and I'm going all out and buying 4 new wheels, and some GOOD drag radial tires.

Problem\Current situation:
So, I'm going to get 17 inch diameter, 10.5 inches wides for all four tires. I'm probably getting chromes because they look clean for longer heh. Regardless, I'm worried about the 10.5s been too wide in the rear and messing up my quad shocks. I dont want to buy a WHOLE NEW suspension also, becuase chrome 17s inchs by 10.5 inchs for four wheels, and all new performance tires is pricey enough.

Right to the point:
Will 10.5 inch wide wheels on the rear and fronts, interfere with anything with the suspension, including but not limited to, the quad shocks in the rear.

This post is primarely directed to someone else who has put fatter tires on their mustang (which i know a ton of you probably have ) or anyone who has a definite yes or no answer. I really REALLY REALLY apperciate your help, for an 18 year old, 4 new chrome wheels and tires is gobs of money, and the feeling that everything will go together without a problem is unbeatable. I sincerely thank you for any help or information!!!!

Other information:
car is an 2002 Mustang GT Coupe Auto Transmission with no suspension or wheel modifications done.

Your really confused friend who's stang is on blocks till he figures his wheel sitaution out----

10.5 are too wide for the front. Get 9s. Tires larger than about 275 wont work up front, and theyd suck on a 10.5" rim!!!

crap. i was planning to get 10.5 wides and put 275mm tires on em in the rear. OK, i'll look into getting 9s for the fronts. What size tires should i run on the 9s, and what size tire should i run on the 10.5s if 275 doesnt sound good?

275/40s in the front on a 9 inch rim - perfect. 275 on a 10.5 inch rim? Does that even fit? Even if it did, it sure would look funny. Where are you getting your info from?

hold up here... Whats the stock wheel size on the 02 GTs then? I thought the stock size was 9.5.... I had no idea that 275's would fit on a 9incher...!?! WOW, that's totally news to me . so what size wide wheel would be perfect for the rears, and how fat a tire would match up perfectly?

my info is all really crappy from idiot friends of mine, thats why i brought the question here for intelligent people to help me with. hehe

ah sig is from a metal song, I've been meaning to change it since its old now, but i havent thought of any good funny insults against ricers yet.

yeah I'm a very tough skinned guy, who likes loud extreme metal, loud exhausts, tire churning, gear slamming, burnouts, drag races, and having a good time. Not to mention wasting money on alcohol and tattoos! you get the picture. That's why I have a mustang, and not some wimpy car. Thanks for the help too!

I'm at my 2nd set of 315/35 Nittos and my 3rd one will be the same thing !

I really like them.

My favorite set up on a 99+ is 17X9 up front with 275/40 and rear 17X10.5" with Nittos 315/35 , no rubbing at all anywhere , even with after market exhaust.

Stock wheels on a GT are 17X8 if you had the premium package if not they were 16".

Here's some fresh pics. from last week end with the wheel size & tire you're looking for :

Stock rims are 17 x 8 Here is some 315 on a 17 x 10.5 in the back and 17 x 9 on the front with 245 Next time I will get 255 up front to protect the rim.

The stock rims are actually 17x7.5's and are commonly called 17X8s.

A 265 will actually fit on a 10.5 rim, but look stupid. 315's will fit without rubbing. I have 285's on my 10.5 but will go with 315's next time around.

To your sig: just because you can't see it, does not mean it is not there.
