Not get any spark, which would you choose. Just 1 cylinder. This will only be temporary, just to get the car to the auto store running the best I can get it to run right now.
Either cylinder will work. I would pull the number 5 plug. Just because it is easy to access and it isn't the #1 cylinder plug in which you use for many things. TDC, timing, etc.
there is no right or wrong cylinder to choose. . . either way you will loose performance and fuel effeciency. . . out of curiosity why do u have to choose one? I know that typically cylinders 1 and 5 are the leanest on 302
Well whichever one you choose, make sure you disconnect your injector electical connections so you won't be flooding your cylinder with fuel that is not being burned.
IF you can... run a compression test!! First a warm engine dry test.. record readings... then a wet test ( just a little oil in the cylinder ) and see the differance!! If the dry test says 120 and then the wet ( with oil ) says 160 ! then that shows a mechincal issue ( rings or possibly gasket!! IF the number only jumps a few pounds between the wet and dry test.. then that shows the mechincal side of the engine is good!! NOW you can start on the ing wires.. plugs.. dizzy cap and rotor.. then fuel!! but get the comp test out of the way first!! cool??

What does this have to do with choosing a cylinder to be dead for a trip to the auto store.
Just choose whichever one will be easiest for you to access until you get the new plug and wires. If you can get to the injector connector just unplug the one that has the broken plug and wire.
