Hi everyone.. I just bought a 1989 mustang lx 5.0, it is a project car and a lot of the wire under the hood have been butchered so I have no clue which ones go to the coil....what color are the wires or is there any way that I could straight wire the coil to the ignition? Thanks for any help

The wires that connect to the coil should be connected via a wiring connector that contains the two wires. One is red wire with a green stripe, the other is a green wire with a yellow stripe. This picture shows the connector at the very top. Disregard the rest

Only that the previous owner was a butcher.

Be prepared to replace the main wiring harness and possibly some of the body harness as well.

I can clearly see the correct wires that should lead to the ignition coil. Both have butt connectors on them, someone did a hack job installing an aftermarket ignition at one point. Pretty much the only reason to ever cut into those wires, although you don't really need to cut them to do so, but...

Go to the junkyard and see if you can get a wiring harness.
