can i put an accel super coil one of those big yellow things on a stock 89 gt

did you cut the stock coil plug and put on connectors to the super coil?

The stock ignition is good to 400 HP unless you have NO2 or pressurized induction. Since you have none of those listed in your sig, you are just making extra work for yourself. Trade the coil for something else useful, like a 94-95 Mustang 70 MM MAF.

JR is right. The stock and stock replacement coils seem to hold up a bit better than some of the aftermarket pieces anyhow.

Not sure about the Accel, but just about everyone I have ever talked to that has an MSD Coils make a distinct humming or buzzing sound.
