pretty much bought an 07 450r today. got a killer deal on it, but i got there too late to finalize financing bs.

anyway, does anyone here ride with any of the 06/07 450's? im just reading exactly how often the piston needs replacing, and the starter issues. seems fairly minor though, so ill probably go through with it.

anyway, just wanted to share.. sucked for a few months not having anything to haul ass on.

So you bought a honda TRX. The 06 and newer 450R's are the ones to have (until they go to EFI). You will be happy with it, and the ride is very comfortable, very similar to your Raptor you got rid of. Got paddles for it? Lets go riding:nice:

I have a 450R, I like so far although it almost killed me last month. Lost control and busted my helmet and my head open, 2 stitches in head, 4 in arm. To bad I don't remember the incident huh? 28K in hospital bills, at least I'm still alive.

are we talking 660 or 700? The 660's are a complete joke! 700's are better but still not up to par. Saleenster have you ridden both in stock form?

I should have mentioned it, sorry. 700R EFI. Yes I have rode both, the group I ride with, most of them have 700R's and they will outrun any 450R '06 and newer when both quads are in stock form. Up a short hill, its all in the rider, do a long streach, no comparison, the 700R outruns it everytime. Even with the cams exhasust and filter, the 450R will not beat the 700R with the timing controller added. They are very comparible in ride quality though, but still would perfer the 700R because of the fuel injection. Now, when the YFZ comes out with EFI, that will be the one to have in late yr '08.:nice:

well i got the bike. rode it for a few minutes, i like it alot.

ride is better then expected, power is pretty smooth, more torque then i planned on. im not sure exactly how it compares with a raptor, both feel about even stock i think.

the raptor obviously has alot more topend speed. ****, put a 15t sprocket on a stock raptor, and race it against a stock raptor. the sprocket alone will make it bike lengths faster then a stocker.

i just didnt want to buy the same thing again.. i think the 450 stock/with an hrc kit will be a blast at the dunes.

the 06 + yfz450's are just a hair faster than the raptor 700r's and since the yfz's are slightly faster than the 450r's stock, I'd have to call bs on that one...
