Because I am not employed right now (still trying to get the shop off the ground though) I am not getting myself anything. I don't want anything. I just want my kids to have a good christmas.
I sold my 331 kit to buy my daughters a Wii, clothes and to finish there room when they come to stay with me on the weekends. It's not right for me to expect anything when I can't provide for my family right now. I just want them to be happy.

(My fiance has a great job, so that's how we are staying afloat. She won't let me sell any of the mustangs... Because I would in a heartbeat)

Merry Christmas all. Just remember how good some of us have it. If you see that person on the side of the road with a sign, saying "will work for food" or something like that, if you have 5 bucks let them have it. It's not about what you have. It's about what you give. WE ALL need to take a step back and take stock of our lives. And realize how good we actually have it.

So true, so true. I've been out of work at Christmas before and it's certainly no fun. Hang in there Chrome Rust and maybe things will turn around soon, and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Fiance is getting me a watch cause I'm always a little late. But I usually buy myself something after the new year so I'm sending my Vic Jr's off to Fox Lake for a stage 1 port/polish/valve job/retainers/new springs. Super Vic EFI intake with elbow, fuel rails and 36lb injectors with a new 255/hr fuel pump, and a custom hyd roller cam to wake this windsor up a bit. Oh yea, my drivers side window needs new supporting hardware....stopped rolling up/down

My parents are funding some repairs, girlfriend's taking me for an evening out, special little fancy/romantic dinner, and a long night in.

As for what I got everyone, got my girlfriend's parents a gift card to a local steak house they like, my mom got a Wii game she wanted, for my dad, I had a firearms refinishing coworker of mine refinish my great grandfather's old 12 gauge that my dad hasn't fired in decades because of it's need of restoration. As for my girlfriend, got her a nice bracelet, and tickets to a concert she wanted to see in a few months.

Unfortunately, money's been really tight this year. Job market is insanely closed off, and hours are being cut like crazy at my job. I had to cash in some saving's bonds I've had to pay for Christmas, a couple personal expenses, and clearing my credit card debt out. Hopefully next year I can be a bit more in the Christmas spirit. I'm sure people are having a rough Christmas this year, so best of luck to anyone in that boat!

thats not a rant, thats life! sometimes a few of us need to read something like this to keep us from forgetting what and where we have came from. its that time of year were people easily become depressed over what they dont have but forget what they already do have that others dont.

Backpacking/camping stuff, a new agave Didjeridu, and probably some clothes. I'm just happy to be home safe with my family for a month. Hope Christmas (and all the other holidays) are good for everyone this year!

On a bit of a side note/small rant, be thankful for what you have. I came within a few short hours of losing my life 2 years ago on New Years eve due to a massive screw up by a local surgeon during a routine appendectomy. Even at 21 years old, I'm thankful for every day I get to spend alive, and with the people I love.

I'll give you guys what I am getting for Christmas, nothing.

Don't feel bad if you don't get much or even anything. I rarely do.

+1 I definitely put family and friends before myself this year, and honestly it's the best feeling I've had in a long time. Today I went out to finish up some little shopping, donated a couple bucks I had that WAS going towards my next pack of smokes to the Salvation Army guy in front of the mall. Gave 2 bucks and a half a sandwich to a homeless guy near my house, and I was able to get my family exactly what they wanted. It felt great to just be able to spend time with the family, and the girlfriend's family tonight, and I still have that great 'helpful' feeling in my heart, which can't be bought or replaced with a gift from someone.

Merry Christmas to all, and I hope that those unfortunate enough to be out of work in this day and age can have something pull through soon.

Craftsman lower tool chest so I can get the upper off my work bench. And an early present, dyno tune with chip at Lamotta's, 348 RWHP & 381 lbs/ft torque.
Tough times for sure, us elders (50+) know we/america will rebound and us (the working class) will enjoy again!
Cheers, vann
