ill running new motor

need help i have built my first efi2.3 na after building 7 carb versions

i used a rebuilt short block with flat tops and arp bolts
head is a n/a unit that was remachined
cam is a woleverine cs666 whitch is supposed to be a factory turbo copy
pacesetter header thru 2 inch pipe into a flow master
this combo has no bottem end and mid range is no better than the old worn out unit
i have a racerwalsh cam gear set @ 0 degrees
timing set at 10 btdc with plug removed


any ideas im confused

Well for one, a copy of a factory turbo cam wouldn't really be ideal for an n/a engine with flat top pistons in it...

Also, are you sure your base cam timing is correct? Try giving it a couple degrees advance and see if that helps.

ya sometimes on after market cam sprokes the gear is not always set right wen you get it...

like the timing lines on the sproket could be out a lil bit.

I don't see any parts there that would make an NA 2.3 run noticeably better than a stock engine. You might try advancing the cam gear a degree or two to see of that gets back some bottom end and check for trouble codes.
