I try to,this is great forum with alot of good people here, but i feel that I was basiclly called a liar and the my dad was incompetant and that he doesnt know what he is doing,I mean really unless you know us personally and know exactly what is going on...how can you tell me that we are wrong...thats exactly what he told me in the last post...something about being called out.

My dad has been a biker for about 35yrs now and the only way he would have a Harley is to sell for another name bike,he has owned them and hates them, mainly cuz they require constant maintaince. For the last 8-10yrs he's been riding Suzuki's,cruiser bikes and has never had to have them worked on other than normal maintance.Right now he is riding a Suzuki Intruder and he loves it,it a 1500, has more power than any harley,Most people look at it and think its a Harley, sounds Like a Harley.

Why are Harley's so maintenance intensive?

Scu---

1) Do you have an M class

2) What will you use this bike for, daily commuter or weekend warrior?

3) Ride a few bikes before you commit to one in particular.

Don't fall for the pen-is enlargement syndrome that many guys fall for. Get a bike, learn to ride it, go through an MSF course and after a few years, then progress up to a bigger bike if you want to.

I started out on a CB750 that only ran mid 12's but was fun as heck and if I took it easy, got a best of 53 mpg out of a 1977 Honda. A 2008 sporty 1200 will run the same mpg, but only runs mid to low 13's in comparative stock form. Did I mention I only had a grand into the old Honda including the price of purchase?

I stood alone on a bike that you don't see 20 of parked infront of the local tavern.

Ride like a pro DVD series is a good investment for any rider!
