@Two - I agree with McMustang on this one. Either Step-Mod what you want the end result to be or wait until you have everything to do it right. Function before Form. Engineering Rule #1

If it was me, I would wait until I had the full set-up. No shame in our cannon sized single. It is a nicely designed stock exhaust on the 6.

I don't think this is the first time I've heard you refer to 'using him up' in referring to a 'stang. Not a bad attitude, really, if you can afford it. I just wish I knew more women like this... OH, you mean in 'stangs.... Sorry!

The times, they are achangin'!

Used to be that v8ers were hatin' on the 6ers. Now we've come full circle, to the hilarious point of "... and the underdog 'sleeper' affect that my 4.0L stang brings. I can see myself making her a very quick car in the future and I will have personal satisfaction taking her to Gratiot and Woodward Ave. and spankin some V8 muscle (not to mention the rice). Last, but not least, I will have a very unique ride and not just another V8 GT"

I've never been a 6 hater (most 6ers here can vouch 4 that), but the above is a joke and needs addressing. First, considering many v8 owners will mod too, how do you plan on "spankin" them? Second, you mention your "very unique ride and not just another v8 GT". By this I can only assume you plan on making appearance mods in order to make your car stand out from the crowd, which is at odds with your "sleeper" comment.

To repeat what I've said many a time, there's nothing wrong with the v6 Mustang. It's the base model and looks as good as the v8. If that's what you're looking for, then it's an incredible deal. That said, it's not the same car as the GT (no, duh!). I've lost count of the number of times I've read "...I just don't need the power...", or, "...I didn't want to shell out for the GT...", only to be IMMEDIATELY followed by "...so then I bought the GT bumper, then the GT exhaust setup, then the GT badges, then did some performance mods..." (eg, see this thread).

Those who bought their v6's and pretty much enjoy it for what it is, bravo. Nice ride, NICE wheels (I always admire them as I pass a 6 ), nice choice. For those who saved a few grand, then promtply spent it trying to get their 6 to look and perform like a GT (but doesn't quite do either, and still requires the "...well, it's a v6, but I saved a bunch on the purchase and then modded it to LOOK like a v8. It's the only to go. Honest..." speech), well, to each their own.

Most of you guys just dont get it.

Its not about being a slave to car payments. I have excellent income and a perfect credit score, I can buy anything I want.

My V6 was 20k out the door. I was in Virginia at the time, alot of young military guys with decent income. The sports car market is very competitive there. I couldnt find a GT for 1 cent under 33k. No way Im paying that kind of $ for a toy.

So for everyone who paid 3K + over invoice, Im putting that money into our 401Ks

To each his own.

I am in no way a V6 hater either. I had an 05 V6 and I traded it up for an 06 GT. Had no plans on modding the V-6. As for the gas mileage issue I bought a regular little Hyandai to get around town and go to and fro with, and then appreciate my GT even more when I get into it after driving the Hyandai. But by reading the above posts my sense of humor kicked in and wondered if someone out there might some day mod a GT....to look like a V6. I can see it now...."Yep...its actually a GT" he he he
If no one finds that funny I will shut up now....

Makes sense. I paid $26,750 for my GT. You did right by not paying that much for a v8.

Like I said, I don't dis v6's, but too many times you get contrary posts as I outlined (not what you were doing - I wasn't having a go at you). When it gets to the point of "...my 6 will beat your 8...", it gets a bit ludicrous - not because it can't happen, but because Johnny V6 "Performance Doesn't Matter To Me" Advocate is getting wet at upping the performance of his v6.

Good luck with your mods. I'm sure the 6 will meet all your expectations, and more

(except for beating me off the line )
