I currently have a '65 coupe with a 289. I've been giving it a lot of thought and decided that I am going to sell my "65 and buy a '67 coupe. I really wish I could keep both but at 18 years old, theres no way I can afford that! My reasons for doing this, is because the '67's just seem to look a lot better in body style.IMO. and I want to put a 351w without a tight squeez, so it all works out for me. And it looks a lot meaner compared to the '65 which looks more "original"
I know all the pros and cons about the '65's but I just wanted to ask, what are the cons for the '67's (if any) and, should I inspect the '67 just like I would to a '65? , or is there more I should pay attention to?

Should be the same as a '65 a far as what to look for. The upper inside corners of the headlight buckets tend to break. Top of the shock tower, where the fenders mount, the overlap to the front and rear tend to rust out in a circle. I don't know, but I hear about more lower shock tower cracks in the '67-'68 than '65-'66. I also see more C pillar cracks than the early models.

The lower control arms and strut rods are 1 year parts for 67 but you can use 68 parts if you switch out the strut rods and the control arms. Just make sure you buy stuff from open tracker so yo don't have to buy it twice. My suspension components are all poly and there is nothing wrong with them but I want something more agressive so I'm provably going to go order some stuff from him now that I've already done my suspension once.

The late modles started using the collapsible steering colums. Kind of a nice feature. Only cons I can think of.
1- Men will envey you
2- women will want you

The collapsible shaft started in 68 I believe. You can upgrade the 67 to the 68 shaft which I will be doing to mine.

How are those cons ? hehe
