Im gonna need pics

I need some pics of the stock balancer. Mainly, i need to be able to see the numbers. my balancer is so gay. the numbers on it are in line as follows:

10 |||| 0 |||| 10 |||| 20 |||| 30

i checked my timing with a light and apparently im running 30 degrees

so riddle me this... I put a mark on the 0, put the #1 at TDC, put the balancer at 0, put the distributor in, then fire her up? then i put it on 10*? my car is surging and i think my timing is helping it do that. its also making my car act like it isnt getting enough fuel sometimes which is pissing me off. that studdering it does drives me wild. help me out guys

I don't think the balancer is causing it to surge. I would look else where. How many miles does your car have? I replaced mine @ 107k and my stock balancer was almost completely shot. When i had my stock balancer I put a white paint line on the 10* mark

you made sure you pullled the spout right?? thats the only thing i can think of

yeah, if your seeing a * that high you may have forgotten to pull the spout when you checked the timing....

im gonna mess with it tonight. the pic didnt come up but ive got it. im 50/50 i pulled the spout before checking. i knew i was on the "30" mark bc i accidently marked the 20 mark with white out (im night blind, hard to see) and i saw it was that high. my car has 57k on it by the way.

If you get it to 10* and it's still running like crap you probably have it 180* off.

Move each plug wire down 4 & recheck the timing.
