I'm looking for everyone's input on this + how to 4.6 wiring

Has anyone seen anygood online wiring books on how to rig up a 4.6 in a classic.

I'm good with 5.0 efi's set ups kinda memorized the actual pin locations for the harness. But when it comes to the 4.6 specifically the cobra mod motor I'm a newbie.


Any advice and where to get the info I need to make this sucker run?

67vert is doing the similiar thing you are, Im not sure if he is tapping into the stock wiring harness but im sure he can give you some input. Good luck and keep us updated, your going to have one bitchin ride.

Proably should try over on the modular forum, im sure some one over there has a wiring schematic. The wiring is straight foward for the most part. you just have to take it all from the donor car, lay out the harness sort it out and remove what you dont need and add in what you need if its not there, but im sure you proably already been there done that before, we all proably have. Im in the middle of stuffing a Cummins 24valve ISB into my chevy truck and the wiring has been for the most part straight forward. Just have to make sure you get everything you think your possibly going to need from the same donor car all at once if possible. Nothing sucks worse than trying to track down one little piece and when you finally find the one guy who has it he thinks it solid gold. I had that happen to me just last week. Good luck

Oh believe me I know what you mean when they think it's gold.

Well if he calls me back I'm driving up to inspect everything tonight and buying tomorrow morning or both at the same time.

What makes it even better is that the car that everything is comming off of is right there also. 35k on the good old odometer.

As for the KB that'll be bought either tomorrow or sunday only if I get the engine

Thanks I just found a nice modular forum that has people on it that know about conversion's it's awesome they get their own little space.

I wish I had a buyer for my stuff though. Or I'm even thinking of buying my all time dream fox and dumping this in it. LX Coupe white exterior and grey interior. Now that would be cool

The local mustang shop has installed a 03 cobra drivetrain in a 67 FB. They used a custom made wiring harness and modified cobra computer for thier project. They were in the middle of wiring up a couple weeks ago. You can always call Randy at the Mustang shop 480-926-3883. I knwo they researched extensively the wiring problems. I'm sure Randy will answer all your questions for the price of a long distance call.
