ok some of you have checked out my build im thinking of either doing a ghost flame or a ghost racing stripe but the mixing of paint thing is throwing me off. im using the dupli color paint shop paint system. im thinking since its so cheap and temporary. im going to try my hand at custom paint. do i mix the blue with white or silver for the ghost or just use the metallic coating?which would work better?

I am going to assume that you are talking about the Duplicolor ready to spray kit the auto chain stores sell.
Unless they have a pearl product for that line, try to get a compatible product. I have had and seen experiences where mix matching products (brands, etc.) can result in frustration.

If they don't have a pearl, Go to a auto paint supply store, and talk to a rep (their mostly very helpful). Auto paint stores also will give you P sheets (product sheets).
The sheets will tell you exactly how many ounces of each part to add, how to achieve desired results, etc. Don't forget the mixing cup, strainers, and sticks. Cant hurt to try,

If I didn't answer your question let me know. I basically do straight up body and paint. My buddy I do jobs with does all the custom stuff, woodgrain, pearl, candy, airbrushing, etc. will be able to give me the info you need

My buddy has a red GT with a bunch of pearl in the clear coat....he got the ghost flame bug and they laid down some heavy pearl ghost flames but they weren't really enough to stand up off the car...it's a fine line between keeping them "ghost" and going to dark and ending up with typical hotrod flames.

Absolutely. So just take your time. The more you do things like this that you haven't done before, the better you will get. It just takes a little patience is all. You can do it man
