i am currently talking to about five shops about this issue, but haven't made a decision yet. i was hoping someone who knows transmissions might shed some light on this. it turns out my stock t45 (and presumably the tr3650 should as well) will fit the new motor, but will not be able to handle the power obviously.

besides the cost difference which i will find out for myself here within the next few days, what other pros and cons can y'all think of 1) sticking with a t45 but building it to support the power or 2) buying a new built tranny, perhaps a 6 spd.

a 6spd would be nice, and it would help with fuel economy on the highway for sure, but cost weighs very heavy on my decision. however, if y'all have something to say truly negative about sticking with the t45 i'll listen. also, the t56's i've seen listed online are only rated for ~350hp and cost an arm and a leg, too! am i missing something? i would have figured a cobra or viper spec t56 to support at least 600hp. thanks

austin.

6th gear in a T56 is the same ratio as 5th gear in a TR3650 isn't it?

yes on the 3650, but the t56 depends on what specs you get it at... viper has a lower 6th than the cobra spec.

I have the promotion 3650 and I doubt its gonna hold up to the power levels im gonna be at when the twins go on.
