Not sure where this should go but since it is a mod motor it seemed better here.

Today while taking my old CAI off to put the straight shot on, I ran into a ummmm problem. :curses: One of the screws that was in the MAF was stuck and I decided to drill the head off. Normally not a problem but the drill bit walked on me and went into the Mass Air Sensor. Now I am in a major need of another one. It comes off of an 04 GT and if anyone near the Charlotte, NC area has one, PLEASE let me know ASAP.

Also, the one on there does not seem to be too damaged but it is definely damaged some what. How bad is it to run the car with it unplugged??

it will sound like it's choking if you run it with the MAF unplugged. the un-metered air throws the computer for a loop. it will be alright for like a minute, then when you go to hammer it, it will hesitate to take off in the new gear after you shift. then after a few more minutes when you go to stop at a light/stop sign, it will have trouble idling & in general be really bad to drive after that.

or so i've heard......i've never actually done this, ummmm....... it was one of my friends that did it & he told me about it...... i mean..... nevermind

Well at least you answered that question for me. I'll guess I'll just have to wait until I can get another one. Thanks very much for the answer!

I hope this was my first and LAST time something like that happens. First it was a freaking bolt that is between the mid-pipe and manifold rounding off, now this.
