This costs for shipping this order were huge because of the dimensions involved.

For example.

April, I shipped over by Bax Global the following

• passenger's side door shell
• rear quarter panel
• pair of full length headers
• 4 fender moldings
• pair of torque boxes
• two rocker panel moldings
• and a bunch of other stuff

for $583 in shipping and EUR 400 in duty and VAT

This last order consisted of

• a second door shell
• full length floor pan
• front fender
• other odds and ends

the cost of the order was $1811 and I spent $1062 in shipping because of the dimensions (this order was more by vol than weight compared to the April order) and another EUR 400 in duty.

True dat! Where is Mr. Sherman and the "Way Back Machine" when you need it?

When the first order was placed, it was thought that the driver's side door was ok and the rust under the carpet manageable. You see, I was only going to do "this much" and get the car running again. But in for a penny, in for a pound, and once I had a lot of money sank, it was stop and crust the car and sell the rest off for scrap or damn the torpedos and turn this into a show stopper. We did not know the fender was so bad until he stripped the paint off it. There was more bondo than metal. The same with the door. Bondo and rust. Once the extent of the rust became clear, I knew I had to do everything at once and spend a lot of money up front or do it piece by piece and spend even more money at the end of the day. Once I started down the path of repair and restoration, there was no going back.
