Hey everyone... sorry I really didn't post last week. I was waiting to get a few more photos, but it's been raining practically every other day here and then the busiest week at work followed by way too many home projects... but I digress.

Are you going to paint everything yourself?

I bought varies Cobra body parts that are all different colors. I want to do everything myself.

Any tips on sanding, primer, paint? Spray gun brand? Paint brand?

Yes, I'm going to be painting everything myself. I already did the Bullitt scoops and interior pieces myself. I've also repainted two of my previous cars, and these were full repaints (not just a few parts). Here are some photos of the last two cars I repainted (http://www.mikuhl.net/glsnxr5/topazpaint.html http://www.mikuhl.net/glsnxr5/tempopaint.html) I don't have a gun right now, last time I used my dads and the one I purchased online from eBay got busted in my last move (it had a plastic paint cup, and you can't buy a replacement

Very nice work, I like the body fill.

BTW... A Bullitt Mustang, and an HSE 4.6 Range Rover...

Just got the HSE 4.6 not too long ago, replaced the 95 Benz S420 that we had. The Bullitt is no longer with us, sold it to my dad. His first car was a 67 Shelby GT350, and the Bullitt rekindled that Pony love he has.

Sweet, that is a nice lookin Stang you have there. What other plans do you have for it? When I removed my stripes, I removed the spoiler to get the trunk stripes off. I left it off for a few days... the no-spoiler look, i'm still not sold on it. On my Bullitt, it looked awesome. From some angles on the conv, it looked great, on others not so much. So for now, spoiler is back on.

Please post images of your under hood installation when you get it completed. I am totally jealous

The install is not 100% complete yet, still need to run the duct from the scoop to the air cleaner, but here are some underhood photos (yes, my engine compartment is fillthy...see above about the rain):

Here is the complete Kar Kraft bracket.

Here is a close up of the front of the bracket, you can see where it attaches to the upper alternator mounts.

This is the rear mounting of the bracket. You can't actually see where it mounts, but it is where the throttle cable bracket mounts as well. This shows a close up of the type of clearance around the intake elbow. I'm not sure if it will work with an aftermarket intake elbow, but you can probably do some good judging on this. You may have to grind away some areas of the bracket to get an exact fit with an aftermarket elbow though.

If the weather holds out today (so far it has been very sunny all day), I"m going to do my next test fit of the rear bumper and snap a few pics of it. So, maybe more updates tomorrow.

actually that has a ton of clearance compared to the CDC brackets. Gonna keep my fingers crossed, I'll find out if it works or not as soon as I get back from Iraq. I allready ordered all the parts

Oh one more question, and I'm not too sure if I can see...

Is there any side to side adjustment in the shaker or bracket? If so how much do you think it could move either direction (IE Left/Right Forward/Back)?

There is no adjustment between the shaker and the braket. The shaker mounts to the bracket on fixed ball-studs (blue arrows). In cruising the Mach 1 sites, there are some kits out there that will extend the shaker an extra 1" upwards through the hood.

There is adjustment built into the bracket (red circles) that allow you to center the shaker in the hood opening. The adjustment is both left-right and forward-backward. Along with that, the kit does come with shims that you place in between the two different parts of the bracket to make sure that the shaker is level. It took me about 30 minutes to get everything exactly aligned.

awesome I really appreciate your input. I hate buying things when I'm not home, but KarKraft stopped selling the kits a while back so I figured I'd jump on it while I'm over here in the desert just in case

I know what you mean. I had been contemplating the Kar Kraft kit for awhile, but wasn't ready to plunk down the $$ for everything. I went to their site one day to check to see if maybe the price had come down, but it was gone from their main page.

I had the actual page bookmarked to the shaker kits, and the page was still up, just not linked from their main page. I sent them several emails, but never got a response.

Then, it reappeared and I ordered right away... even before having the right hood. I wasn't about to let it slip away again.

I'm coincidentally a step closer to yours. Going to get taillight tint and an explorer V8 emblem soon.

I may have a cobra bumper soon also, waiting to see if the body shop still has it.

A quick update. The paint hasn't been shot yet. I got a nice, unexpected bonus at work a couple of weeks ago. That pays for about 75% of having a body shop do all the prepping and painting. I'm on vacation starting Wednesday, so the car goes to the shop on that day since I won't be needed the car for the 4-5 days that it needs to be in the shop.

I'll have some updated photos sometime middle to late next week.
