I am thinking about running Hooker header 6228HKR or 62281HKR 2in primary long tube headers for my new boss 427 build. What Makes me angry is I cant find any 3in already created Header back kit for them. I was thinking about the MAC 3in Prochamber, MAC 3in Dumps, but they wont bolt right up to the hooker headers from what I have read, And the Biggest header they make for the swap is 1 3/4in primaries, if they are going to make 3 in pipes....why dont they make 2in primary headers? Flowmaster sells a really nice 3in exhaust kit but they only make them for Shorties! Does anyone know of a 3in kit that works with hooker long tubes?

Thank you

Trevor

I've emailed them 3 times asking about if i could get Headers all the way back kith with the 5044 headers, and 3in x or h pipe and 3in cat back from them but have never gottin a reply. Shoot i would just take the headers and x or H and buy the 3in MAC dumps, but they have never even replyed to my emails.....

your gonna have to do some kind of cutting no matter what you buy, when your at the level of a big windsor with 2" primary headers you are kind of getting past the bolt on stage. I have a bassani 3" x-pipe, and bassani catback that sounds and fits great. I also ran dynomax ultraflows before that and they sounded pretty much the same as the bassaini's do. Nice raspy pissed off tone. Personally id never put a chambered muffler on a motor that can make its racket on its own

I would go with the 2", heck a healthy 347 would make good use of the 1-7/8", just make sure the collector is done right. Right length, and make sure the primary tubes enter it a rotational pattern.
