Is there a way to increase the displacement on a modular engine? Do they make a kit or do you have to bring it to an engine builder? How big can you make the cylinders and can you stroke the motor with a bigger crank? How much would something like this cost and would it be a good way to get extra peformance. Also, will the computer work with all this enhancements?

i think the biggest stroker kit i've seen turns the 4.6 into a 5.1 modular. the 5.4's can go as big as 6.0. check out sean hyland motorsport (SHM) http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/

apart from that, you can bore out the cylinders a little, but probably not enough to give more than .2 L. I'd check out SHM's stuff. they built the first sub 7.00 modualr mustang.

ya, everyone i talk to says that its not safe to bore a 4.6/5.4 block out more than .020" SHM and i think CHP(Coast High Performance) make stroker kits. they are rather pricey though. i have friends that run SHM parts and they are very well built. to get the full power potential out of the computer you would need to get a good dyno tune.
