With the GT now at 412HP, just imagine what the BOSS version might do.

The Dodge Challenger at 425HP, and the Camaro at 426HP...

...how about a BOSS 429 version at ...429HP???

(a different interpretation of 429 ...it would be OK with me)

I'd like to see a N/A version of the 6.2L truck engine under the hood of the next special production model. Obviously with a short, lower profile intake runner, more suited for the Mustangs needs and a true dual exhaust set up.

Now that would be something.

Yeah, I know I'm dreaming, but I'd love to see this line up:

Base: 3.7L V6 - 305 hp
SVO: 3.5L Ecoboost V6: 365 hp
GT: 5.0L V8: 412 hp
Boss: 5.8L or 6.2L V8: 475-500 hp
Shelby: TT or Supercharged 5.0L, 5.8L or 6.2L V8: 600 hp

It's been a long time since I have had a Mustang. Sold my 2001 GT Vert in 2002 and my blown 1993 Cobra in 2003.

I haven't been too impressed with the mustangs since then. But, with this announcement I am very interested in purchasing a 2011 GT!

The only things I want to know is the final weight and if there is going to be any crazy markup at the dealerships like we've seen in the past.

I am pretty excited about the upcoming year, for sure

Is the car going to still retain the live axle??

What about the rumored Brembo brakes?

How much is this gonna cost?

thats incredible, I want that drivetrain in my car. probably run 11's while getting 25mpg and 100,000 mile reliability. wonder how much it weighs and what it pulls in the 1/4. my car only weighs 3050lbs with me in it.

Unless you are talking RWHP that would be a waste of the BOSS name. 17HP over a GT for the BOSS? Come on now.

This is my vote:

BASE - 3.7L V6: 305 hp
SVO - 3.5L V6 w/EcoBoost: 365 hp (I would be the happiest person in the world if it had available AWD, don't worry it won't happen.)
GT - 5.0L: 412 hp
BOSS 302 - 5.0L with supercharger (or EcoBoost) and a shaker hood: 500 hp
Shelby - 6.2L SC or EcoBoost: 600hp

It's fords new direct injection turbo engine(s). There is a 1.6L & 2.0L 4cl and a 3.5L V6 (twin turbo). What rock have you been hiding under? lol. Look up the new 2010 Taurus SHO. It is pretty sweet, but it's:

a: a taurus.
b: heavy.
c: $40,000+

Still a pretty cool car.

Mehhh, "5.SLOWS" (and all other variations) have been kicking butt since day one. I suspect the comments are made more out of envy, than anything else. The haters can punk all over the Mustang all they'd like...in the end, it always seems to the the staple that every other person compares their so called "fast car" to.

To the last point you made, how many mustang drivers have had non-mustang owners ask why the went with the 'stang? Most of them. But how many Mustang owners ask an Evo or STI driver why they went with their choice? None of them . . .

That heavy '10 SHO you're talking about starts around $35K after rebate which is only a couple grand more than a popularly equipped '10 Mustang GT Premium. And the SHO runs mid 13's @ 103 mph in the 1/4 mile, which is quicker than most every "classic" 5.0L Fox-Bodied Mustang as delivered from the factory!

It's a great car, but still a lot of money for a taurus. Would rather see that drive-train in a fusion starting at $28k. Fat chance, but it would be cool.

Key word in that is a "Popularly" equipped mustang vs a "base" SHO... If it came down to performance you could buy a '10 GT for 24k and have it running deep 11's even high 10's before you spent 35k total.
