Looking to put in a 331 stroker kit into the stang as well as a HCI upgrade while keeping cost to a minimum.

Anyone have a similar combo with HP gains, 1/4 ETs, or set-up?

Who sells a reasonable priced stroker kit? how much $$

Any info on the Holley systemax kit.

Thanks in advance,
Adam White

The holley kit is really nice but also consider the track heat trick flow kit. It includes the roller rockers too unlike the holley kit.

If your gonna put that much $ into a 331, dont waste your time on doing a TFS or Holley setup.
Ok, but you forgot to mention a few things.....

whats your budget?
How much HP do you want?
Where are you located?
When do you wanna build?
What heads do you have/what ones can you afford?
Do you wanna get used parts to save $?
Get a custom cam that is MADE FOR YOU!

After more searching on this and other forums I think I plan to go with a explorer intake, thumper heads and some bigger injectors, and all the little stuff to make it work.(those little parts add up). Will this flow well enough to feed the extra cubes of a 331?

I read a column in Engine Master Magazine saying they got a 331 stroker kit from ?Pro Power? for $775. I couldn't find the same kit on their website though. As far as harmonic dampener and balancing go how much would the stroker cost?

I really don't have a budget as I make decent money being in Iraq for another 6 months, and nothing to spend it on. I am CHEAP! Anything I can get cheaper slightly used or junkyard parts is always a plus!

Down low it will be great, at the top (5000+) it will be more choked than having better breathing parts.

I think they moved towards the modular crowd

This was Junes Engine Masters Mag. I wouldnt think that it would change that quickly. Does anyone know of another company that sells a kit at that price and quality? It was all scat equiptment I think?

If you are buying the assembly, heads, intake, TB, etc. expect to be spending minimum $5000. Don't skimp on the kit if you do you'll pay for it later. Cheapest I've seen a kit with bearings and rings is just under $1000. I'm guessing that $775 kit doesn't include rings & bearings.

dont forget you are going to have to have the block bored and the skirts on the cylinder walls will have to be notched, you will have to have it hot tanked and new freeze plugs...total cost there is around 500$

a 331ci short block is starting to look pretty good right about now.
Do you have to get an new short block balances with your flywheel and dampener?, or can you just give them specs and its done for you?
