how do you know if the h/b is good or bad ?????

you can either visualize it from the engine bay or physically feel the rubber piece in the center of the HB seperate from the rest of the balancer.........like if you get underneath your car and run your finger around the rubber part. Plus your car will be shaking really bad from idle to about 1500 rpms.

going bad.i did not feel much vibration with on my car,but better to replace now, than have it fail while driving and destroying my timing cover.

so i will be able to tell with out taking it off and i have no shaking just have seen a lot of talk about it and alot of ***** tearing up dont want it happening to me i have enough problems as it is

vibration can be from a lot of things.for the balancer, grab a flashlight and get under the car to check the HB.if you see the rubber coming out,it's time to replace it.got mine from autozone,$98 Pioneer with a 1yr warranty.

just because the rubber isnt coming out doesnt mean its bad. mine vibrated at 1500 the worst and i found that it has spun a little bit. i replaced it and it feels like a new car again well almost anyways.

Kinda :OT: but revelent.

I was watching Pinks last night and one of the guys had a Fox and he spun his balancer right off the car before the run. It was the last race so who ever won got to keep both cars so he decided to run it anyway. He made it to about the 1000 foot mark and threw a rod through the side of the block :D
