Finally got them.. I got this far tonight, then stopped.

White Devil, Stanger: How did you hide these wires that you see in the pic?

Also, are the red/black wires the ONLY ones that you hook up to the power? (and Im assuming you just plugged in each of the 3 white gauge wires into a vacant socket on the black wire of the dimmer switch.??

Here are 2 pics so far:

When I put the gauge back in, I just routed them behind the dash and down to about where my right knee is.

You're right on about the black sockets. If you want to test out the gauges before you put them all in, put the black lead on the negative battery post and the red lead on the positive post.

Another thing worth noting is that I've read you can burn out the gauges before their time if you use the factory headlight/dimmer switch, so I just make sure that one is cranked all the way up and then dim the gauges via the provided dimmer with the kit.

Enjoy the gauges!

So I assume you route the white ones back, then down....and THEN connect each white one to a black lead?

Thanks
RC

Oh..one note...I think what you are referring to with the burn out is if you PHYSICALLY wire the leads into the dimmer switch as your power source.

I used a voltmeter to see which wire on the harness was to power the back lights and i wired the power into that one. That way they only come on with the back lights and they dim exactly the same too. As for the white wires i just tucked them back and when u put the plack trim peice back on u cant see them. I like them but i have an autometer C2(Bright Blue), and on the blue setting these thing are not that blue at all. I think i may switch to lunar gauges so they match better.

My Autometers are White, with a green glow, that's why I think these will be nice.

If you power it the way STanger did, they will ALSO move only with the headlights.

You got any pics of them yet?

Check out this link for detailed instructions:

http://www.corral.net/forums/showthread.php?t=417487&goto=newpost

You take the 2 power wires, and attach them to one of the blue bulb holders...the contacts... Use the top center, red on the bottom contact, black on the upper. That controls the power AND dimmer.

Here is a pic from that thread:

These are a MUST mod for people that want WFG's

Jason, I have not "mounted" them yet, as the car is still in the garage with the jackstands waiting for the Vortech to come back.

However, I think I will probably just leave it tucked under the dash....I see now reason to be changing the color, and once you set the "ideal" brightness, you just use the headlight dimmer to adjust them...You dont need to have continuous access to the switch.

I'll second just tucking the dimmer module under the dash. Just make sure the metal contacts on the back of it don't ground out.

Well i have driven the car with these..... had one little snafu... i think is my fault... The gauge face for the speedo isn't sitting perfectly flat on the factory gauges and it is rubbing the needle on the speedo itself..... and hanging up a little..... no biggie.

You guys think that if i put a few dabs of adhesive here and there on the back of the faces(on top of the factory ones) it will cause any problems.....

Other than that i absolutely love them for 28$... look great in daytime and they glow so brite you can actually see them if you turn them on in the day... waiting for it to get dark to check them out at night.....

I ordered mine the other day too. I want to take my airbag light out and figured I might as well order some gauges while i'm there.
