Innova Code Scanner doesn't work with my car

does anyone use an Innova OBD1 code scanner with a 94/95 GT? I can pull codes the normal way, but i purchased the code reader to simplify things....but when its plugged up, it won't even turn on.

Anyone have any insight?

i've never used one, do they have a battery?

What's not turning on? The code reader? It should power on, even if it's not hooked up to the car. I presume it needs batteries - my Autoxray code reader needs 4 AA batteries.

Yeah mine turns on without being hooked up as well.

batteries....im so used to OBD2 plugs that power code readers, i didn't even THINK to put batteries in. I also thought this unit would work like an obd2 reader...but it does not.
