Innovative LC-1 wideband

I've been looking at widebands, and have seen some decent prices for Innovative's LC-1 wideband. I've seen both the wideband itself, and the wideband kit that comes with the XD-1 gauge.

Now I don't have EGR, so technically I could just wire the wideband into the EGR harness to run it through the twEECer. But I've heard that sometimes this is a less accurate way to get a reading from it. So I was looking at getting the gauge too.

Now if I got a gauge, the LC-1 says it works with a lot of different ones, Autometer included. The LC-1 by itself is only $199, but the LC-1 kit that comes with the XD-1 gauge is $399!! An extra $200 for just the gauge! I was looking at the Autometer gauges and they're only $60 or so. So couldn't I just get the LC-1 and hook up an Autometer gauge to it? Would I still be able to run it through the twEECer at the same time?

Is the gauge even really neccessary? I don't mind spending a few extra dollars on it. I was thinking about buying a single pillar pod to mount above my existing water temp and oil pressure gauges on the windshield pillar. I'd just have to measure to see if it would fit there.

Any thoughts?

IMHO, you want the wb's output to be in your datalogs cause ALL of your data will then be in sync.

That's what I was thinking. Without the wideband hooked up to the tweecer I would have no idea when the a/f ratio was changing in relation to the datalogs. So really I could get a gauge, and when it came time to datalog just disconnect it from the gauge itself for increased accuracy? Then any other time (just driving around, not tuning) I could leave the gauge hooked up?

I'll look around on EECTuning and see what I can find as far as widebands go.
