alright, so i picked up my new cable today and im just wondering if i could install it without a firewall adjuster? or do i need one for it to work at all? thanks

You mentioned that you had an adjustable cable before right??
therefore, I have to assume, and I think I'm correct that you have an aluminum quadrant under the dash right??
installing a non adjustable cable onto an aftermarket aluminum quadrant with no firewall adjuster will not work right. It's almost gauranteed to be way, way too loose. You can try it, but it won't work right, you'll know instantly, you'll have almost no clutch pedal because there is nothing to tighten the slack out.
go to upr.com, order their extreme firewall adjuster and have them rush it to you, unless you can find a local place to get it.
also, be sure your cable routing is correct, if it isn't that's a surefire way to snap cables.
my engine compartment looks like ass. i've let the car sit for the last 6 months while I restored my entire interior. here is how the cable should be routed

do you have a picture of the adjuster on the firewall. i want to see what i have to do to the cable to get it to work right

it's real simple. pull the rubber grommet off the oem cable, cut off those three tabs on the plastic sheath with a razor blade, shove it through the firewall adjuster, put the firewall adjuster into the firewall, and screw it in, hook it onto the quadrant, adjust to the left to tighten.
some setups require that the firewall adjuster be almost all the way out to be adjusted properly, no worries. as long as it's adjusted right, you're ok. check out the link I already gave you for adjustment procedures
this in particular is the older steeda setup without the locking ring. It still works good for me. I just installed the upr extreme piece onto my bros stang, definetly a better design.
