Well I guess Bassani sells axle-back systems as cat-backs or something. I ordered the cat-back and it only came with mufflers. Ah well.

Well I installed the mufflers and after a long time figuring it out (I put the hanger brackets on backwards :bang: ) I started it up and was very impressed. Sounds great. I only have two concerns; I can't get them to match up evenly (one side sits higher than the other) and reving takes a lot longer than stock. I rev it up and it sounds great but seems like it takes longer. Maybe its just because its 1am and I'm tired. But anyway I highly recommend it and it sounds awesome. Anyone had the same problem with one muffler hanging down a bit? I'm sure I did everything right (aside from the brackets lol).

sounds great, by the way did you get the new race axle back or the original one? if you dont knwo which is which, the race has a round tubular type muffler while the original is more of a "regular" muffler shape.

Dude, you have got to read my previous post about installing my axle back Borla Stingers. It took me forever to get the tips the same height. I was finally ready to give up and a friend said he'd help. He basically had to bend the rods on the muffler to get it to match up. After probably 5 or 6 hours invested, it finally looks right. Now, maybe I can sleep tonight! LOL! Good luck!

I have the rounded polished tips. Huge friggin things. Can shove my whole hand through the exhaust tip. The rolled ends. Look beautiful.

Yeah I'll have to try and work it out tomorrow on the lifts. Hopefully I can get it. I have OCD and its killing me having one higher than the other lol.

You need to loosen the over-axle pipes at the joint where they connect to the H. Rotating them along with playing with the position of the mufflers relative to the connection to the over-axle pipes should get it to line up well. I had no problems with the Bassani kit I had on my '06.

You had to mess with the over-axle pipe and the H pipe? I just bolted em on without touching those (except to tighten the clamps on the mufflers). One turned out perfect the other was a mess. Hmm I'll mess with it tomorrow and see what I come with. Thanks guys for the input. Any more I can get before tomorrow will be helpful! :SNSign:

In my situation, I had to rotate the overaxle pipe slightly (the drivers side one) to get my tips perfect. I'm pretty anal about it......

I had to do the same thing again when I installed the Corsa system. I would guess that all aftermarket exhausts are a little different when it comes to the position of their hangers.

You'll get it man, don't worry. The Bassani kit is great too, good choice.

Thanks guys. I just got it lined up now by rotating the connection to the H-pipe. It looks great now.

But I have a question for the other stang owners with the Bassani...

I bought the Bassani AFT-CAT Cat-back exhaust system and all that showed up was the mufflers. Isn't that just an axle-back system? Wheres the rest of my pipes?!

Well I'm hoping to put on the X-pipe today (no cats). I want a deeper sound from it. Basically to me the Bassani sounds like the stock exhaust just hightened in sound. So yeah it is louder, deeper and I feel it breathes better but I still want a deep sound. Its not EXACTLY what I want but hopefully when I install the X-pipe today it'll gimme more. (I might have to put on headers soon but I'm reluctant to do that because I dont want any problems with my car).

All in all its a good system. Looks great. I got the tips lined up and set in the bumper. Sounds like a champ, getting looks and enjoying driving with the windows down. I'd change some things about it (like the drone and making it deepr) but its still a nice system. Come on x-pipe! Don't let me down!

And I'm still wondering about the whole "cat-back" thing from Bassani. Seems like its just an axle-back system to me. Mufflers alone do not equal cat back exhaust. Where are my over axle pipes?! In the pictures they show the pipes and the rest of that jazz but I guess its for the earlier models.
