Installed MGW, Billett 13" and Bilsteins *THOUGHTS*

Hey guys, few friends of mine put the Bilsteins and Billetts on today. I did the MGW and then stood around looking important the rest of the time.

MGW: Wow, WHAT a difference. Feels like a whole new car. I can shift SO much easier and I can really feel the power of the car now. Worth EVERY penny. Totally quiet. Almost silent shifts. Amazing.

Bilsteins: Ride is a bit better. I expected much more I guess. Bumps are still kinda rough. Gunna hit some rough roads on the way to dinner. See how she holds up.

Billetts: These were a pain in the ass. BuyFordParts sent me the wrong brake lines and we leaked brake fluid all over my gf's father's driveway. HORRIBLE. But the brakes look great and feel great. I love em

Okay, the Bilsteins are awesome. I take back what I said. We forgot to put the boot on the Bilsteins to keep the strut centered in the tower and it was causing a HORRIBLE rattle. SO today we jacked it back up and fixed it. Wow, what an amazing ride.

As for me saying Billett instead of Bullitt, it's because I wasn't thinking and was just typing. THose two words always confuse me.

Now, as for pics of the brakes, don't mind my ****ty rims. I'm buying new rims NEXT summer. THese are what came with the ride when I bought it.

Congrats.......I remember when I put the bullitt brakes on my GT, i was in LOVE with it again. And when I dropped it with HR springs and Bilsteins I was in love once again....all good times

Yup, that's my love for moding. it makes you appreciate your car like you did when you just bought it.

The car rides awesome and I can't wait for moding again. Maybe in a month or so

How'd the install go for the MGW? Mine is sitting in my apartment waiting to go on once my gaskets arrive. I know MGW is supposed to be the quietest, but I couldn't resist the gaskets for 6 bucks to ensure a quiet shift and to avoid the messy silicone.

The install took me about 15-20 minutes and I'm a car newb. I just followed the instructions and it went flawlessly. I just used the silicone it came with, worked great. Shifting is dead silent. Probably my favorite mod at this point.

Why does everyone have a problem with the brake lines doing the brake swap.

I did mine two years ago and used the same lines that were on the stock calipers. They bolt right up.

How is the traction with the Bilsteins? When I had them I was the burnout king and I didnt want to be!

they are great. I'm not a racer so I cant confirm your title. LOL. However, my car IS my daily driver and now I can get to work without getting my back readjusted.

and WOT, the stock lines worked fine too. Just the stainless steel would have been nice...considering I PAID for them.

Hehe, I installed tokico springs and struts on my gf's 2g eclipse yesterday. Install was a breeze but forgot the dust cover on one of the struts just like you did and it rattled like hell. She was freaked out and thought the car would fall apart. Fixed it in like 20 mins and everything is golden now. I didn't know that was its purpose in there, I thought it just protected from dust...

Yea, same here. Was scary as hell driving with em off though. I was just waiting for the strut to pound through the tower and flip my hood over my windshield into my back seat (vert don't forget )

got em from buyfordracing.com I believe is the site. The kit was $400. I love em. Except they are complete rust now where the caliper doesnt grab the rotor. So annoying!
