So my MGW shifter came in last night and I did the install. I have to say this is 10 times better than the tri-ax I had in my t-45. There is no gear noise, the feel is solid, and the throws are shorter than steedas. MGW rocks

i feel the exact opposite, i liked the tri-ax better than the MGW i have now. there was a tad more gear noise with the tri-ax, but the shifts felt more solid and the spring back in the tri-ax was WAY better.

I know we can all agree that they both are a great upgrade from stock.

I want to try an MGW. Anybody with an MGW that wants to try a triax let me know. I still have my stocker somewhere so I can send you mine, swap and send me your MGW. I have good seller feedback on many sites, just so you know I'm not trying to rip anybody off.

i would jump on this in a heartbeat.....but i have a t-45 so your tri-ax wont work. i seriously hate this mgw. i have used a tri-ax for t45 (gf's old 98 v6) and the tri-ax for the 3650 (my old, totaled 04 GT) and i now have the MGW in my my 99 cobra on the t-45 and i really, really dont like it. dont get me wrong, its a vast and huge improvement above sock, so for that i wont get rid of it. the noise is less, but my exhaust is too loud and drowns out most of that noise anyway.

The springs in the tri-ax are stronger making shifting easier. I do like how the MGW notches into gear though, and how the handle can be turned. It just comes down to a personal preference.

Your a little nuts but thats okay.
I wish you had a 03/04 Cobra cause I would pay for all the shipping and do the trade in a heartbeat! I have the Steeda Tri Ax now and really dont like it. Ive hade the MGW before and think it was touched by the hand of god much the way F-body owners feel about the LS
I like the MGW 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000x more, never missed a shift with the MGW but the Tri Ax is a bitch to find third sometimes and just dosent have that positive feel the MGW had

I've never tried the tri ax but i freaking loooove my MGW. The springs are so tight that it basically shifts into third for you once you pop it out of 2nd.

MGW makes a great shifter. They are NOT the ideal shifter for racing at the strip (it's so smooth, there isn't alot of feedback), but aside from that no complaints... and they aren't even "bad" at the strip.

MGW all the way, I never miss a shift in third either, and the 360 degrees of adjustability is an awsome feature.

No Complaints

I haven't tried the Tri Ax but I've got no complaints with my MGW. I've had it for a month and the shifts are smooth and firm.

Either way, a big improvement over stock!!!

All I gotta do is push foward and it goes into 3rd by itself pretty much.

My buddy wants to get an MGW for his GT so i'll be able to compare the two finally, but until then... I <3 the tri-ax.

I want to try an MGW but as far as shifting my Triax, First gear I use my whole hand to push up and over, then second is a two finger throw straight down, Third is a thumb push up and fourth is two finger trow down. Yeah it's got some noise but my gf thinks it gives it a jet engine sound. Whatever that means.

if noise is a concern, get the "cobra bob's" shifter gaskets from SVTP. I can faintly hear the trans while cruising in 5th. That's it.

I have the Tri-ax. I took Cobra Bobs idea one step further and made my own gasket just a little bit thicker. It raised the shifter base up by about 3/16" maybe only an 1/8". It cut every single noise except a little whine at 2500 cruising in 3rd, just before I hit it. Zero highway noise from my shifter. The thicker gasket improved shifting smoothness alot. I think the Tri-ax tends to bind somewhat. But now it moves into reverse and first gear with ease.

Cost to me - Zero, got the rubber from work. Maybe silicone, I don't know, I couldn't melt it with a soldering iron.

Yes its set correctly. I drove with a MGW for so long that I got used to it. 5th on the MGW is where 3rd is on the Tri Ax. The shifter is also very noisey and I just dont like it I have used enough shifters to know which one I prefer and its the MGW I prefer it cause it feels right to me. Everyone has their own taste and opinion. If everyone liked the exact same shifter then there would only be one out there instead of the 15 different ones we have to choose from

Thats whats so great about Stangs. They are so popular and been around long enough that the aftermarket has to beat just about any other car made for modification and personalization. You can modify any part on the car you want and have TONS of choices as to what kind of part you wana replace it with
