I went ahead and got one of those hood deflectors. I drive a lot of miles each day, and I have had to replace many windshields over the years.

I got one of these for my last car after owning it 1 year, and I regretted not getting it right away because of hood dents and chips from rocks.

I actually like the way it looks...

I think it blends in pretty well. I looked at as many pictures online of it installed before I decided to get one.

With the black door edges and dark tint, I think it blends pretty well.

How does it install? Any drilling? Is it a Ford item? How expensive?

No drilling. If the instructions had any words besides pictures only - I probably could have done it in 1/2 the time. But, it took me maybe 30 min to do.

Yes, it is a Ford item. Its on their accessory page. With tax, I think it was like $82.

Get the item # from the ford webpage - and then go to a dealer and ask them to order you one.

All of these things generally hook onto the hood of any car the same way - usually 4 clips on the end of the hood.

Got 30 on the sides (and teh small ones in the back) and 4% for the rear.

It's the darkest I can go in Texas for the side windows and be legal. The law says you can't go below $25%. And, the tint place claimed that there is some very minor, minor tint in the windows already.

So, their 30% and what the car already has brings it close to 25%.

Here, you can do the rear as dark as you want it.

The sides look very dark, but I have a dark interior, and that 4% on the rear REALLY cuts out a lot of light.

Is there a pony on it? The item description says there is but I can't see it in the photo. I don't think I would want one since the pony in the grille is right there.

Pony on the deflector?

No - it just has the word "Mustang" on the driver's side - molded into it. Very small letters actually
