Clear front lamp set this past weekend. Man what a difference that shifter makes, and the install was a piece of cake. I'm loving it! The clear lamp kit makes a world of difference in the looks of the car too. The clear lamps on a white car looks great :D

I put the Tri/Ax in my old '02 and tranfered it into my '04. I forgot what it was like to have a stock shifter untill I drove the '04 for the first time. The stock shifter is like shifting with a hand full of wet noodles compared to the Tri/Ax.

I just installed mine tonight actually and I was under the impression that the 2nd to 3rd shift would be effortless. After a short ride I realized that I wasn't much different. Will it get better or did I have a few too many beers during the install.

Maybe you're trying to force it to shift? I've read where people try to force the 2-3 shift and screw it up because the shifter should do it by itself.

I don't think that it was meant to be effortless. I just think that the shifter is springloaded so that when your are shifting from 2nd to 3rd, its almost impossible to miss unless you miss on purpose.

Since neutral is now in between 3rd and 4th gears, when you take it out of 2nd it automatically goes toward third, all it takes is a push upward and you're in 3rd. It actually took me awhile to get used to it also, the throws are so short I didn't think I was in gear all the way. It takes a couple days to get used to, but I would never ever go back.

When I first installed my TriAx I was almost ready to take it back out after a hour or two of driving... it was notchy and seemed hard to shift from 2nd to 3rd and from 4th to 5th.... but after a few days I realized that I was trying to force the shifts and if I just relaxed a little and let the shifter help in the shift, it got a whole lot better....

I would not give up my shifter for anything now... it makes the car so much more fun to drive... :nice:

I think you had too much to drink! No, it'll probably get better, but mine was sweet as soon as I put it in. 2nd to 3rd is totally different even with the higher shift lever position. Maybe not effortless but much better than stock. Shorter and more precise. The steeda shifter actually feels like it wants to go into 3rd where the stock shifter was fighting against me.
