Just put a spec stage 1 in my buddies 94 cobra. I had the flywheel turned this afternoon, installed the clutch, now when you release the clutch there is alot of vibration. If you rev the car to about 2k then let out on the clutch it isn't as bad. I installed the same clutch in my car a couple of years ago and had a little vibration, but it went away after a while. But it was never like this is. Is this just standard break in stuff or is there something else going on? Thanks

I had the same kind of thing happen when mine was installed. It will calm down some. The next time I will not have the flywheel turned. I will just buy a new one. I think that is where most of the chatter/vibration you feel comes from.

VIB ...Thanks for the heads up about the break in period. I just orderd a spec II clutch that should be at my door when I get home ( Im on vacation). My stock clutch couldent handel the power of the Paxton Novi 2000 , it slipped bad past 5PSI. Does anyone know if I should I buy a new stock flywheel or should I go w/ an aftermarket one or do I even need one at all if the clutch is broken in properly.

You need an aftermarket flywheel when running a disc that is metalic on the flywheel side. A stock flywheel can be had for around $100.

White94- WELCOME! I never saw you post here before. I've talked about your car several times on her though. I agree with everyone else, its more than likely chatter, but there is the chance that the flywheel might not have been milled perfectly straight and true to center. I know TTC and D&D HATE people cutting down the stock flywheels as they tell me its damn near impossible to get them perfectly flat and straight and that it can be dangerour. I have run on cut flywheels before, but my current on is a stock replacement. I need a new clutch and I'm getting a Pro Motion McCleod dual friction setup.

Yeah, I haven't even fooled with my car much lately. I just graduated college, so needless to say I've been real busy. Decided to get it out today, haven't driven it in a few weeks and even then it was just down the road and back. Washed it, went to turn it over, it just clicks. I have plenty of battery, but I think either my starter or starter silenoid went out! Figures, decide to drive, she breaks down! Just cracks me up! :D Anyways, I told my buddy I thought that it would go away. That is the first time his flywheel has even been turned, the guy who done it has done many for me in the past and I've never had this problem, so I think that it will go away. At least I hope! Thanks for the info guys, I really appreciate it!
