Hello all, new to the forum. Just bought an 86 GT in need of a paint job (Runs like a scalded cat though!!:D  ), and I also got the side skirts and bumpers from a 87 - 93 GT in the deal. Will I be able to install these without TOO much hassle? I am guessing i will need a hood from an 87+, or will an aftermarket hood fit? Just curious as to what I am getting myself into here. Thanks in advance for all help offered.

Welcome to the boards. :nice:

Your gonna need the GT side mouldings so the ground effects will line up and look right. I love the 4 eye'd stangs but if you must change it to a 87-93 go right ahead. Your gonna need a newer hood from a 87-93 and an aftermarket one will work. It could be done and I dont see it being to hard. Good Luck

Good Points

I do have the GT moldings, so that will not be an issue. I also like the 4 eye look, but i am kinda torn between the two. If I decide it is too much work, i guess i will sell the ground effects and just paint it as is. What would be a good price to ask for the GT ground effects and bumpers? Thanbks again for all input, as I am still trying to decide which direction go with this project.

There is a bracket system that the top of the side ground effect fit on you have to get that from your ford dealer, they have to be pop rivited on so you have to drill holes in your rocker panels. If I remember right there are 5 bracket plates per side one long two short and 2 that are even shorter. There is also 2 U shaped brackets for the back skirt that bolt onto the bumper. You may have all the effects but you need the mounting hardware to make it fit right :nice: Since the holes aren't there it will take alot to line up every thing properly so take your time. good luck :nice:
