how difficult of a task of this? i was looking @ my engine bay and it looked like a ****ing pain, especially the passengers side. Is it best attempted from the top of the car or from the bottom, also would it make it signifcantly easier to do the install with the intake manifold removed? Im removing mine in 1.5 weeks for the swap! ty for the help.

I don't know if pulling the intake will help all that much (maybe the upper will). If you do LT's when doing heads - that is ideal. That's what I did, and I had all kinds of clearance.

Otherwise, I think I have read a number of people doing LT's alone. They're a pain, and you will need to pull some stuff out of the way (steering linkage). Run some searches (LT install) and you will find lots of comments.

BTW, I strongly recommend you get some locking header bolts. You won't want to go back and do that later, and without them you will need to retighten. And be sure to use long enough bolts (My BBK LT's like 1" bolts - they hold better).

Stout solid flange, no fit problems. All around, I'm happy with em.

the install really isn't that bad. loosen up the engine mounts, jack the engine up a couple inches and they slide in pretty easily, a buddy to help you is a definate plus also, along with the locking bolts.

yeah drivers side was easy after you disconnect the steering shaft then it goes right up and in from the bottom. The passenger side is a little tougher. I took out the started then loosened up the motor mounts untill i could drop it in from the top. I also took out all my emissions stuff. I've heard of people having trouble putting them in but i though it was really easy. taking off the intake manifold wont make any difference i dont think.

Looking at your sig, is that all the mods you have done to your GT so far? If so i don't think you'd benefit most out of doing longtubes. Your money might be better spent doing shorties AND gears for that price.

Mine fit like crap, the passenger side collector hits the tranny cross-member. The jet hot coating was really crappy in some areas, I couldn't even screw in the collector studs because the holes were full of extra coating. I was thoroughly dissapointed and I let BBK know about it.
