Installing Skid Plates

Just received a set of Skid Plates for the GT and I'm going to try to install them tomorrow....anyone else done this?

looks like a straight forward install? but i have to ask...what are they for? are you pulling in too far to the parking curbs? i dont have any scratches under my car because i am careful when parking. are you rubbing pulling into the driveway or something?

lowered car + steep driveway angle = scrapes under front bumper. I always seem to hit the same spot.
