I just did mine last weekend. I had the axle out for a rebuild and ring gear install. I used a floor jack, milk crates, and jack stands. I was able to push the axle in place on the milk crates. Then I placed it on the jack stands. I hooked up the lowers first. You'll be able to roll the axle fowards later for aligning the upper arms bolt holes. I used to different size punches to align the holes.
And definitely don't torque down the nuts until the car is on the ground or cinderblocks and fully loaded. It will help if you have someone assisting you. You'll appreciate the extra muscle needed to wrestle it in!
