Insurance table

My insurance is up for renewal so I decided to do a little due diligence instead of just settling. So I thought I'd put a quick table together of companies I talked to or went to their site. Included is contact information for each company. I am curious about Sneed. Anyone have any experience with them. Their terms of use seem to be a little more liberal but they are also more expensive but not ridiculous.

I do plan on doing another table for regular insurance companies. This table focuses on collector car insurance companies.

Had a few people ask me what Agreed Value I got the quotes on and the term. I apologize for not including them, that's been updated on the page.

25K for the Agreed Value and the term for each was a full year.

I am going to call Sneed and talk to a rep about their usage policy. It seems to be more flexible than most but they are higher.

I have Parrish-Hancock. I'm paying $283 annually with a 3,000 mile a year limit (I'll never put 60 miles a week on it) for a modified classic and an agreed value of $30,000. I also had to sign an agreement that my wife wouldn't drive it. :D

I have haggerty on my wifes 54 Belair. Limited mileage per year, I think 3k or 5k max, and not commuting to work. It has antique plates, so that's a bit different too.
Even here in Michigan with our notoriously horrible no fault, I think it costs us like $150 a year. Agreed value at I think $20k.

I need an insurance company that will insure a 20 year old using his stang as a daily driver and do Agreed Value

From what I found you will have a little bit of a hard time. I think the closest anyone came was Sneed. According to their site they will insure a 21 year old. They do an Agreed Value.

I will do another page on regular insurance when I get the time to research it.

I could always create a chart and let everyone fill in their coverage numbers (aka car, modified, agreed value, etc) AND their state if people think it would be helpful.

i hate insureance companies..everything is a 500 deductable..and if you have a car vandalized or wrecked, its hard for someone to come up with the money (im 20) when im a full time student...so my car is currently still sitting with key marks on the side in the garage..

Having been 20 and having been a college student I understand completely... however that doesn't help you very much. Some of the companies don't have a deductible at all but they all require you to be 25. Insurance companies see more risk with 20 year olds...justified or not. (having been 20 I think back on ALL the stupid stuff I did so it's somewhat justified :rlaugh: ).

I need to update that table because I misread Sneeds underwriting terms. You do have to be 25. Part of their terms said you have to have a clean driving record for 5 years. I took that to mean min 21 but alas I was wrong. You will eventually get there bud...

i couldnt agree more, i am 18 and a college student with a daily driver and my stang garage kept, so why cant i get coverage? it barely ever gets driven

Because you are paying for all of the driving sins of many of your 18-year old idiot contemporaries. Think of that the next time one boasts on an Internet forum about all the 'crazy **** I did on Main Street last night,dOOdZ!!111"

:D

You can GET coverage, it's just going to be expensive as hell. I used to pay $950 a year for JUST LIABILITY on a 1977 VW Rabbit. And that was in 1987 !!!!!! I had no choice. I sympathize with you, to cure the problem you just have to get old like the rest of us :D

Well thank god im almost nineteen. Most of you older gents accuse most of us teenagers of wreckless driving. Well I for one dont. I have only once spun the tires on a city street. I havent got any tickets(speeding, seatbelt, etc). Im not saying that to feel special, im just saying I dont plan to become a idiotic kid like most others. :flag:

i totally agree, me being 20, i havent even been stopped by a cop..i have 0 tickets or anything...and to have a stang as a daily driver when some idiot decides to key it..and now i cant afford to get it fixed because of the insurance company...

i pay 269 a month for my insurance...

full collision/comprehensive

So if someone wants to recommend a good daily driver insurance company for a 20yr old, I'm all ears

DAMN....269 ? That's a car payment dude !!! I don't blame you for wanting to cut down on that cost. I will work on creating a database and I will solicit from a bunch of forums and see what we come up with.

Well when I was a youngon I had totaled 2 car within 360 days of each other on of those I did some major damage to a big rig I had several speeding tickets and more close calls. My insurance was over $750 per month on a car that I was paying $217 a month for and living in an apartment that cost $350 per month at the time I thought it was highway robbery but I really was lucky that I could get anyone to come near me. I have since grown older and I think wiser.Ya I was a real dumb @$$
