Intake bolts too tight?

What happens if I tighten my lower intake manifold too tight? Could that mess with the lifters at all and cause a ticking sound?

yes but didnt have one handy and wanted to get done, could it affect my lifters?

It will pull up on the heads, can cause a head gasket failure depending on how long its been like that, and the condition of the head studs.

the torque spec for the lower intake is 15 ft pounds. I dont think that overtorquing the intake can hurt the lifters. the only thing it can hurt is the head gasket. i have never seen it happen but when you overtorque the intake it pulls the heads out of wack. this is why the torque spec is so low for the intake. if you used anything more than a 1/4 inch ratchet then you probably way overtightened it.

Won't affect the lifters. Sounds like too thin of oil or a bad lifter that is dirty. Pull the lower and clean the lifters and pusrods.
