I have a 1995 Mustang with a 408 and a Pro Products Typhoon intake currently. I also have a 96-98 Cobra hood which closes after trimming one spot where the AC compresser was hitting.

I would like to upgrade to a better flowing intake, but I do not want to get a new hood. I was thinking maybe one of those carb-style lower intakes like a super Victor with a low-rise elbow like the Edelbrock 3848. Would this style of intake set up be likely to still fit under my hood?

And which lower intake would sit lower, the Pro Products Hurricane or the Edelbrock Super Victor EFI?

i looked on the edelbrock site and was unable to find the dimensions of the intakes.

then there are these elbows, both of which are low profile:

they are certainly not taller than the typhoon upper intake i have, so if the lower is not much taller than a typhoon lower, then i should be ok, right?

I can check tomorrow on the intake and elbow height. There is a company that will make u a custom intake elbow to clear pretty much anything.. intakeelbows.com looks like they have some that I remember seeing. They are $225 i think though.
