Intake help please! Help me decide

I am finally in the last stages of getting my motor together. I was courious if I would benifit from steping up to a different intake. I have a cobra intake on the car should I step up and get a Edlebrock Preformer, or a Trick Flow Trackheat.

Or would I be better off having my cobra lower ported? Will the cobra make power to 6k? As i would like to shift at 6k or so.

Or would having a trick flow or edly and having it ported work or would I lose tq in this case?

I would go with the track heat, sell the cobra intake on ebay to help pay for the track heat
i had the track heat on my dss 306 auto car and it ran excellent,then after a month of driving the car i jumped up to the trick flow R intake and that really woke the car up....
the cobra intake that i started with was a ported one...so if yopu really want to go balls out spend the extra $ and go with the "R" intake from trickflow (not the box "R")
is this a N/A car???

The R intake? What were you spining that thing to? I dont just want peak power keep in mind this is more of a street car and a heavy vert at that.

I would like to have the best of both worlds with tq and hp. It will be na for a while but it is a toss up with no2 and sc but either one of those will come later down the road.

To my way of thinking ..........

The OEM Cobra, Edel Performer, and TFS Street Heat ..........

They all fall in the category of ... Long Runner Intakes

It would seem to me

unless you went with one of the mid length runner intakes ...

what was i spinning it to?? keep in mind this is also a N/A CAR
well with the track heat intake it would max out at 5900
thats on a mustang dyno not a dyno jet.....
once i put on the "R" upper and lower intake it went up to 6800
and gained 42 hp @ the rear wheels over the track heat intake
the tq #s and hp#s went up across the board....
im also running a aod factory trans with a b&m shift kit and 3k tci converter..

im running 410 gears with 17 inch rims
this car on the xway is a monster....yesterday on the xway coming home from work there was a new z06 next to me trying to egg me on, at first i just ignored him but then once the cost was clear he hammered it and then i hammered it mine down shifted and took off like a rocket...i pulled past him but had to let up as cars were getting close really fast....

Everyone one was saying that (b4 i switched over to the "R" setup that i was making a mistake) the "R" intake is for a stick car and that i would lose low end tq and hp..
they werte wrong it went up all through the powerband.......

yes this is a daily driver and i couldnt be more happier....

What heads are you running and what are the cam specs? If you dont mind me asking

IMHO ... You gotta be careful
or
It is so easy to loose focus

When you start to talk ...

shorter runner upper intakes
and
talk like the other poster has talked about

Keep in mind the cam of choice

That cam is not really all about ... a strong upper end

Just something to think about

Keep a focus on your MAIN application :Word:

I am that was the reason for me asking about his combo Because I have a feeling he do not have your average 306 combo.

I figured you had a big cam and high flowing heads.

looking at your specs, i have mac long tube headers,75mm t-body,42lb injectors,80mm abaco maf,and everything else that you have i have...
dont have the cam card handy but i do know the lift its a custom bullet cam
and yes its a vert...

Yeah you built that thing to spin high and prolly more track oriented than mine. I only plan on spinning it to 6k and only see the track about 3-5 times a year.
