I'm looking to upgrade the air intake system on my '95 GT. the car is stock except for an x pipe and cat back exhaust. my question is, would i be better off buying a complete kit like the one from c&l that includes an inlet pipe, bigger mass air sensor, and heat shield, or would a simple bbk fenderwell kit (about half the price) provide just as much gain? any advice would be appreciated.

thanks,
Tim

if you can save a few extra $$ an edelbrock permormer or similar intake would be a better investment.

also do a search on homemade CAI (cold air intake)

Yep, it didn't help much except for easier access to the SPOUT connector. It does clean up the engine bay too. If you are going get one either make your own or get one off ebay for cheap.

I made mine (home made) to draw air from the fender.

It was very noticable when the temps were cool.

It was not noticable when the temps were higher.

Some of the kits are not worth the price
and
pipes like those more suited for blowers ...........

are over kill for typical street 302 stockblock na setups IMHO.

Some of those pipes must be made from gold by the price

make a homemade one and save up some extra money that you would have spent on the CAI and get either gears or an intake manifold

Get a performer upper and lower, and make your own CAI then just buy a k&n. I just happen to have a performer upper and lower for sale... lol
Like grady already said if temps are low the cai works pretty good, when its hot if feels stock.
