Seventy I'm with Badstang (usernames utlized Justin-case of confusion ) That's CT material my friend.

Other possibilities that might (or might not ) work are: to do as everyone said and go down the side of the Sleazy-Out with a carbide bit. This will sometimes allow the EZ out to slacken up enough (it's loaded into the dog crap metal surrounding it) to be removed with friction-twisting or any slotting you put into the exposed metal (once the tension is off the Ez-out, it wants to come out um, ahhh, easier).

Old school from Grady and my day: Hitting the area carefully with a torch while melting wax around the edges of the EZ out. The wax slides down the thread interface and can act kinda like thread lube.

I've never done it but some will tig a fastener to the broken piece.

That same freakin bolt broke off on me too. I WD40ied the **** out of that thing and with an easy out if eventually came out. Good luck man!

Well...the BOLT IS OUT!!!! Now I just have to hope it holds. I'm planning on putting things back together on Sunday night. It has been a really bad week, a worse month, but I really hope things will start to turn around. Whether it be this install or life in general, I really needs things to start to get better. Thanks again for all of your input guys. It is greatly appreciated.

The bolt did not hold. It stripped out as I was torquing them down in sequence. I'm kind of bummed Right as it stripped I stopped turning and I'm praying somehow the gasgacinch and rtv will hold. We'll find out when I start her up. Otherwise looks like some new heads are in order.

Justin, are you in a position to use a Helicoil? In some cases, you can seal up every open port (tape, rags, etc) and do it with the head on the car. Then vacuum up everything and remove the tape and rags.

The way it is now won't work.

I know you're having a bad stretch - were I local I'd come over and whack away at some of this with/for ya.

+1 on the Helicoil. I wouldn't trust it to hold like that.

"That might have been an option previously (In fact...it's what I should have done instead of the EZ-out). Now I doubt it's going to work though. I think the root of my problem at this point, is that the outer wall of the head crumbled off right where the bolt goes in. Not good.

I'm going to try re-tapping yet again and using a longer bolt, in hopes that it will catch some new threads deeper that will give it enough bite to hold. It's the last hope before the heads come off.

IT'S IN!!!!! IT WORKS!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!

I finally got some time to button everything up on the intake install I ended up using a 2 1/2" Grade 8 bolt instead of the standard bolt on the one I was having trouble with. It threaded all the way in perfect and torqued to 20lbs with no problems

Once I got everything put back together, I let it idle for 10-15 mins with the radiator cap off to get things up to temp and make sure there were no air pockets in the cooling system. This gave me a chance to double check everything, set the timing, and make sure there were no problems. After that I took it for a quick drive and put 4 or 5 miles on it. So far everything seems to be perfect Tomorrow night I should get some more time to take it out and really see how much of a difference the intake made.

I think that everyone breaks that bolt off. I broke the front drivers side when I did mine. My dad and I drilled it out and just chased the threads. My friend broke off the front passenger side on his Fox when he did his cam swap. He biffed it when he started drilling it and ended up having to take the head off and take it to a machine shop to have them drill it out.
