Me and a buddy just installed the edelbrock performer and 30lb injectors with new calibration tube. My problem is that after the install i get idle surges. The timing was check and it is fine, and the fuel pressure was bumped to 42lb. We swapped out all the old and cracked hoses and installed a new pcv valve, and thermostat. When im driving it runs fantastic but when i get to a red light it surges then the engine cuts off. We check for vacume leaks and there are none. What the hell could be the problem? By the way the car is an aode.

what type of MAF...a C&L?? Do you have a cold air kit or anything other than the stock intake tubing?? Try rotating your meter (clocking) and see if it helps.

30lb injectors with stock heads and cam is your problem! I don't think you'll be able to lower the fuel pressure enough with 30's. A Ford tech guy told me I could lower fuel pressure to ~37psi without sacrificing the injectors spray. Why did you get 30's?

when i bought my s-trim, the guy was putting his car back to stock (cobra) and traded me my maf and 24's for his 80mm and 42's. I didn't install the blower for about 3-4 months afterwards but ran the 42's and 80mm with the stock heads and cam with no problems. It did have a slight lope at idle, and some people thought it had a cam, but no other problems. So I don't think the 30's are causing the problem

If I understand correctly you were using a ProM and mustangt562 is using a C&L. The different mafs might mean that a direct compairson is not valid but I'm not sure about it.

With the larger inj's I would think you would want to lower fuel pressure.

Just a couple of thoughts!

I Agree with this the 03 cobra had a recall that the enginge would surge at idle, the fix was to turn the mass air
