Intake! Is this any good or what? (pic)

Overpriced so no one uses it. NO Good comparisons for anyone to try it out.

Stick with the tried and true...

I payed 550 for mine.. What do you think is a good intake for a what I want, also I know the engine, blower, nos, well make more power then I need. so if I would lose a little( but I don't think so) its no big deal. I like it a lot but.......

What is tried and true?

Thanks for the kind words.

I polished my intake and shaved the "Holley Systemax" lettering off the top, so I guess if you left it the way it comes it would look less plain. As for flow numbers, I'm not sure, but I know the throttle body opening is just shy of 75mm

There`s been some quality control issues, and it doesn`t appear to out perform the tried and true intakes on the market.

One guy on stangnet,(I think his user name was humpty dumpty),said the lower manifold leaked coolant through the casting and the fuel injector mounting holes were off.
Another guy on the corral mentioned something about the lower cracking I think when he torqued it down and some other problems with it as well.

It sounds overly hyped and unproven so far.

I thought MMFF dyno'd it at just under the TFS street intake...I might be wrong. I do remember them commenting on the sharp angles the air needed to take and I still dont understand how the cyclinders on the right side dont starve since it is easier for the air to go straight across to the left side rather then turn 90 degrees. I went with the TFS street (black) since I dont use a power adder and it matches my heads and cam. I guess the most inportant is everything you have needs to "match/support" each other. IMO

I have not had my hands on one yet but some of the other guys I talk to in the industry were not impressed with the results that had when flowing and dynoing them.

The Holley I feel is the best LONG RUNNER blower intake available.

Scott, that looks great :nice:

its a saying, what has been tried and proven to work.

The BBK intake really isnt so bad as far as price being that it comes with fuel rails @ 550 dollars. But then you think for 50 bucks more you can get something better, so my performer RPM 2 is actually coming in the mail today.

BTW if you have stock heads and stuff, 75mm TB is WAY too big for you, stick with a 70 at most.
