Im having a few problems after swapping in an engine. When the edelbrock intake was put on between the upper and lower there was no available gasket at the time so a gasket from a stock 302 was used of course it barely covers the intake no bolts what so ever fit on it.
I know that would cause a major vacuum leak I cant keep the car idling at all. Ordered the correct intake gasket though so its coming in. Another thing i noticed though is that the back bolt where you actually put the bolt through the upper intake is broken it was siliconed back there.
Now Im assuming other then siliconing it up there is almost nothing i can do about that back there. its missing a good chunk from where the bolt threads through its completely gone. Nothing to weld back there. i can still mate the upper to the lower but i cant bolt it.
Im hoping I will not have any future problems though once i silicon it down. but any ideas? to a more permanet fix?
