Ok i am not doing the heads or a cam ($issues) but I need more power and I am wondering which upper/lower intake set is the best to make power and how much to expect out of a stock engine with exhaust, a 70mm TB, and a bbk cold air intake. Any advice is appreciated.

Edelbrock makes a nice box-stock intake. If you're gonna do some port-work, a Cobra or similar will outflow an Edelbrock. Now port the Edelbrock, and it's a different story.

FWIW, I went from a 14.89 @ 95.27mph, to a 14.17 @ 98.99mph with a ported cobra intake, and a 70mm throttle body.

In the 5.0 & mm&ff mags they have been raving about the new bbk intake(you get quite a bit for your $). I believe the dyno results were best in the test which included TFS, stock, GT40, Edlebrock. check out the mag's site for the comparo test.

if i remember correctly the mag said that the bbk didnt really stand apart from the other ones till they put it on a 347.and even then it wasnt much better than the gt-40.but i could be wrong it has been a couple of months.and dont forget to look at the tfs street and track heat intakes and even the tfs r intake.i got the track heat myself.

i put the cobra intake on a few weeks ago and i am very happy with it. also, i think the 70 is to big. go with a 65. i took my 70 off and put the stock back on and the car is much more comfortable to drive. i will probally get a 65 in the future but i would say if you did not already get the 70 you should probbaly put the money elsewhere.

I dont put too much trust into magazine articles...you dont know who is getting paid to say what the readers want to hear.....

Go with the tried and proven intakes...Eddy Performer, cobra, TFS street heat. You probably wont pick up much if anything at all with a TB swap. Save that money for later on when u need it.

No, but you can get the new reproduction 93 cobra in polished for $100 more than the normal finshed 93 cobra. I don't know if they're still making the 95 cobra. The GT 40 is still available.

to put a 93 cobra intake in our cars you have to convert it to the fox throttle body setup.i bought one not knowing this, paid 450 for it polished, turned around the next week and ordered a tfs intake.im about to put it our forums here.

94opalgt- why not just buy an elbow adapter like with every other intake?

I LOVE the edelbrock performer as it is a VERY tried and true intake and it ALWAYS performs. I went from a 14.6 at 94.89mph to a 14.3 at 97.2mph with the e-brock performer intake, 65mm tb, and shorty headers. Adding nitto drag radials and a homemade CAI dropped me to a 13.83 at 98.55mph.

Because the 93 Cobra intake has an integral throttle body spacer, unlike the other fox intakes, and you can't use the elbow adapter with it.

I'm registered there, but haven't posted. It seems that the site doesn't load often.

Looks like a great site though.

I loved Super Ford Mag. Too bad it got absorbed. That chart is WAY old, though. No TFS Intake, No Holley....
I really don't think the BBK Intake will fit our cars. I remember reading somewhere that they were working on a 94-95 specific intake.
Anyone know anyone that has put one in?
(I imagne that it CAN be done, if someone REALLY tried, but how much work?)

so if I want a cobra intake the only one I can get ahold of is a 87-93 manifold?? and I have to switch to the old style TB. That kinda sucks bc I just installed a BBK cai and a 70mm TB on this car. So I don't even know what to do about this now. Try other type of intake I guess.

Check ebay and corral.net classifieds. I saw a 94/95 cobra intake get sold for 250 shipped on corral a few days ago. I vote cobra it's a direct swap and it flows more than what you want on a stock engine. Later just port it and it can hang with most aftermarket intakes.
