So what is the consensus on the plastic coolant crossover version of the PI manifold. Have they been blowing up at 80K miles like the older versions?

If the coolant is run low, it will crack. If the engine overheats, it will crack.

If the t-stat housing is over torqued, it will crack.

In short, every short fall in the Non-PI plastic intake is still in the all plastic version of the PI intake.

Sometime the plastic intake does last. I got 145k miles from the one on my 2000 GT. The intake was still servicable when the motor was removed. However, due to their poor service history, the replacement motor got a metal crossover version.

if the coolant crossover on the front of the intake manifold is aluminum, then no.

for new edges, this pertains to only the 99-01 models. yours shouldnt have a plastic crossover

Naws explosions not good.

Well I do not use Nitrous. I had one go on a 97 GT once at around 80000 miles and I am now there on my 2000. Maybe I will save up some for the new Aluminum one that supposedly give us more power.
The PI swap was a great improvement on the 97GT,. Highly recommend it/

Yep, it was at the back

It took a while to figure out what was going on since I was loosing fluid but not excessively though, and there was no visible leak until the car was at the shop having a starting issue looked at and they found the leak also it was pooling at the back or something they said

When the plastic manifolds crack what is the main symptom of the issue? Does it leak coolant or is there a hissing noise, like an air leak in the manifold? My 96 GT hisses like a damn snake. I've ruled out all the vacuum lines, exhaust leaks, and a cracked intake is the only thing I can come up with. The pitch or intensity of the hiss does not change with RPMs.

vtgt91 check the bottom of your tb, theres a set screw that vibrates loose, it is nothing to do with any adjustments, its just there.

With mine I was loosing coolant, I guess it was more of a drip onto the block so it took a while to figure out where it was going.

Didn't notice any other sings
