I have a 98 GT that has had a miss @ around 1800 RPM, I have put new plugs and wires into it and it still runs like $(%#, if you get above 2k it runs much better, It has also developed a coolent leak around the tstat,

What are the signs of a bad intake? what year did they finally fix it? would a bulitt intake work on a 98 4.6l? My fear is that the new part from the dealer is still plastic and would have the same problem down the road, am I nuts for thinking that?

if you have developed a leak you need to replace it because its more then likely cracked. You could step up to a pi manifold. its still plastic but the coolant crossover is aluminum. a bullitt manifold will cost you some seriouse cash and wouldnt be worth it in the long run.

The livernois kit is just a pi intake with special adapter plates to fit the npi heads because the coolant passages are just a little off and the air passages are shaped different. Some people just rtv it up but I dont really endorse that method but some swear by it so its all about your pereference. When I did my heads and intake I had the water passages welded to fit the pi intake and than I grinded it down but I work in a toolroom so I have all the tools to do this stuff. Also my heads were ported and polished. O and livernois kit intake has the top milled to fit a stock hood.

Anyone have any problems with an aftermarket PI intake or should I stick with the FoMoCo, The dealer wants $400, summit wants $200, I saw a couple of recomendations around the forums but the links were all dead.
